Black & white processing and printing is our specialty
Saturday, February 21, 2009

I have sad news. This year is our 20th Anniversary; but it is also our last. We will close our doors forever on March 31, 2009. As I'm sure you can imagine, this was not an easy decision to make. We had committed to being here as a resource for film shooters as long as film was made; but in the end changes in our world made it impossible for us to keep that promise.

It has become increasingly difficult to buy the supplies we need in small amounts for a price that lets us make a profit. Our volume is so low that we often lose money processing film as the chemicals "go bad" on us before we can use them up. My printing skills are becoming rusty from lack of proper exercise. To be really good, you must print all the time. And, as is true with many of you as well, our damaged national and global economy has made changes in all of our lives. To pay our bills, feed our families, and keep roofs over our heads we must use the hours in each day smartly in ways that keep the wolves at bay. The lab has evolved from our bread and butter, to a fun hobby, to an expensive burden.

If you have already mailed us an order, rest assured we will take care of it for you; however, any orders received after March 31 will be returned to the sender unopened.

I am so sorry that it ends this way, and I thank you for all the trust you have placed in us over the years. I wish all of you the very best with your photography. We recommend Images in Tucson. You can find them at www.mylab.com
